THE DÉRIVER

The Dériver challenges the theory of Dérive. A mode of practice founded by Guy Debord in Paris during 1956. This theory was evolved around psychogeography and was to be practiced within the urban environment. To engage in this theory elsewhere was considered 'moronic' as stated in Debord's book on the Dérive.

In disagreement with this statement, I explore the open plains of Dartmoor as a space of liberation. These images hold a representation of bewilderment and lack of consciousness through a documentation of live, improvised performance under a shroud.
